Chapter Four

Arnav and Khushi were beyond happy. Arnav now wanted to spend time with her and Khushi the same. They had planned to go out that weekend and Khushi couldn't wait. Once Khushi got home that day, she was really, really giddy. She had a smile spread across her face and nothing was able to make her mood go down.

The weekend arrived and Khushi met Arnav out at the park. Not many people would go to the park, since everyone was too busy at work or being at home and stuck on their gadgets. The minute Arnav saw her, a smile spread across his face. Khushi was really his khushi =)

“Hi,” she said shyly.

“Hi,” Arnav replied, almost in a whisper, his voice hoarse.

They walked in the park and without even realizing, they were holding hands. But even after they did, they didn’t mind. They liked it and liked being this close in proximity.

A couple of weeks passed by, and the two got extremely close. They spent time together as much as possible. In class they always sat together, in the library they were always together, and then later on they would meet outside and go on their date. The park being a serene place, it was their favorite place to go to because the two felt like they were in their own little world.

"It's such a beautiful day," Khushi said, taking in a deep breath and letting it go.

"It really is," Arnav replied, wrapping his arms around her. "But with you, I'd say it got better."

Khushi blushed and looked at her entangled fingers.

"Is my Khushi blushing," Arnav teased.

Khushi turned away, blushing more. Arnav was such a sweetheart, always creating cute teasing jokes and making her blush. And she absolutely loved it.

Arnav moved her hair aside and nuzzled her ear. Khushi took in a sharp breath, which Arnav had indeed heard. He rubbed his nose from her hair to her neck, and Khushi turned away, giving Arnav more access to her milky neck. Arnav nuzzled her neck and Khushi felt slight tickles, as well as that amazing feeling she would always get in her tummy.

“Arnav,” she whispered.

“Hmm?”

Arnav was too distracted by her neck and kissed it. Khushi held his hands immediately, as Arnav began to suck on her flesh. This was the first time Arnav was doing anything like this to Khushi, let alone any girl. Arnav was just too caught up in her beauty, he couldn’t help himself.

“Arnav,” Khushi gasped.

Arnav nibbled on her neck and Khushi’s hand went straight into Arnav’s hair and she tugged.

“Arnav please,” she whispered.

But Arnav sucked even more and bit down on her flesh, lightly.

“Ah! Arnav please,” Khushi whispered, tugging on his hair.

Arnav let go and looked up at Khushi. She was lost in passion and it made him smile. He placed a soft kiss on where his mouth recently was, and Khushi had tingles run up her spine. She turned her head and looked at Arnav, whose eyes were filled with love and passion for her. Her heart melted and she smiled her shy smile. Arnav loved that smile very much and he kissed the corner of her mouth. Khushi blushed even more and she turned away. Arnav smiled and walked in front of Khushi. He cupped her face in his right hand and Khushi looked up at him.

Khushi gazed into his love-filled eyes and Arnav saw the love in her eyes, mirroring back. Khushi couldn’t help but wonder what she did to deserve a man like Arnav. He was sweet in every way, a sweetheart, knowing how to love her perfectly. Thinking to the fairytales she had read as a little girl, she figured that Arnav was indeed her Prince Charming.

Taking in a sharp intake of breath, she moved her hands up and cupped Arnav’s face in them. Arnav shut his eyes at her touch and let out a relaxed sigh. In their short time together, Khushi had never done this, being shy and in her shell. Today, she had broken some of that shell and did her deed. Arnav leaned into her hand and Khushi smiled lightly, feeling shy from the intense gaze he held at her eyes.

Arnav’s hand slowly slid down to her waist and wrapped around it, Khushi not having a clue. She looked away, smiling shyly and blushing pinkly. Out of nowhere, Arnav pulled her into him and Khushi gasped, holding his neck tightly. She was centimeters away from his face... from his lips. Arnav noticed her chest heave the way it always did when they were this close in proximity. Today, after their few weeks of being together, he was finally going to kiss her. He understood that this was all new to Khushi and that she felt uncomfortable, so he gave her some space. But after seeing all the love in her eyes, he knew now was the right time.

Moving his left hand up, he cupped her face in his hand. Khushi leaned into it and shut her eyes, taking in a sharp breath. Her heart was acting up like crazy!

Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!
Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!

And Arnav’s heart was doing it as well.

Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!
Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!

“Khushi,” Arnav whispered, his voice low and hoarse.

Khushi shuddered slightly and looked into Arnav’s eyes. The two gazed into each other love-filled eyes and Arnav looked down at her lips. Her plump, pink lips, that looked juicy. Unable to control his want/need/desire, Arnav really slowly leaned in. Khushi’s eyes widened as she saw Arnav leaning in. But as he got closer, the fear left and she really wanted his lips on hers. Her eyes hooded, her chest heaved, and she was impatient, since Arnav was leaning in painfully slow.

Just as Arnav’s lips were about to meet hers, she shut her eyes and her lips parted slightly. And within a nanosecond, his lips were on hers. Khushi gasped to the foreign feeling and felt his tongue in her mouth. Khushi’s eyebrows scrunched as Arnav kissed her, experiencing this feeling she had never had before in her life. The way his lips were on hers and the way his tongue danced in her mouth... it was just breath taking!

Melting into the kiss, Khushi relaxed and let Arnav take full control of her, letting out a small moan. She let her fingers go into his hair and tangle in it, feeling his soft, tousled, brown hair. Khushi liked the feel of it and tugged on it. Arnav let out a small growl and he deepened the kiss. Khushi gasped again and tugged on his hair again. His actions were amazing and Khushi reacted every time.

Khushi just absolutely loved it and wanted more, so she pulled him to her. Arnav obliged, letting out a little growl from his throat and he moved them back and had Khushi lean against a tree. It was the biggest tree in the park, its trunk really wide that children loved to run around it. The tree covered up so much distance around and provided a great amount of shade. This tree was their favorite tree, so they would always be here.

When Khushi leaned up against the tree, she let out a moan into his mouth. Arnav groaned and pushed his body on hers. Khushi gasped, when she felt a bulge. She wasn’t sure what it was(but I'm sure you guys know what it is ;-) lmfao), but from the intense kiss, Khushi didn’t think about it for too long and got lost in the kiss once more.

Running out of breath, Khushi pulled away and gasped for air. Arnav rested his forehead on hers and gasped on air as well. Both tugged on the air, Arnav holding her by her waist to support her. Once gaining her breath, Khushi looked up into Arnav’s intense hazel eyes, him already looking at her. Khushi blushed and pushed him away, feeling shy, and tried to run away, when Arnav grabbed her hand. Khushi froze and Arnav slowly walked towards her and wrapped his arms around her waist. He nuzzled her neck, ear, and hair, in that order.

“I love you Khushi,” he whispered.

Khushi shuddered. “I love you too Arnav.”

Arnav turned her to face him and he softly kissed her swollen lips. Letting go, Khushi and Arnav smiled, leaning their foreheads, not wanting the moment to end.

Little did they know that today, unlike the other days, there was actually someone around. Someone that had indeed seen them. Someone that had indeed seen everything.

Chapter Three

Khushi sat at her desk and was studying, when she started to remember earlier today and how she and Arnav were studying together in the library. All the moments came back to her crystal clear like it just happened a second ago. Thinking about it made her smile. She didn't even realize she was smiling. Just then her mother came in.

“What the hell is wrong with you,” she asked.

Khushi looked away and returned to her book.

“You’re smiling like love-sick idiot.”

Khushi looked up, her eyes wide. Love, she wondered.

Her mother placed her clothes down and placed her hand on her hip and looked at her. “Don’t get any funky ideas. When it comes time to your marriage, it’ll be who we decide.”

Khushi looked side to side.

“Waise bhi, you should’ve been married by now and probably with a kid. But no, you’re still in school getting your education done.”

Khushi went back to her book.

“What’s the point in you studying anyways? After marriage, you’ll be home all day and will be busy doing house chores and taking care of the kids. So then why bother?”

Khushi didn't say anything.

“Well, at least the good thing here is that your father and I don’t have to pay for you.”

She left Khushi’s room and after a few seconds of control, Khushi got up and shut her doors and locked it. She slid down to her feet and began to cry. It always hurt her when her parents would say things like that to her. She didn't like it one bit, but she never said a word.

After regaining a steady breath, she went back to studying, but couldn't focus. She decided to go to sleep, without even eating.

*~*

Arnav noticed that Khushi was gloomy. The sorrow in her eyes had increased, and she seemed very down. He decided not to say a word to her. He noticed throughout the day how she was like that. She also was the next few days, and it just stayed there, but she didn't allow it to appear on her face. But her eyes were the biggest big away.

These days, at the library, they would talk even more. When the new semester started, they had Business Administration together again, as well as lunch. They would still see each other at the library and would talk. Some people began to notice the closeness and it spread throughout the school.

As time passed on, Khushi began to get strange feelings that she had never felt before. Same too with Arnav. At one point Khushi began to realize when it was Arnav coming through the doors before he had even come in. It was crazy! She didn’t get it, but slowly, very slowly, she began to feel different. Her heart would race and she would feel extremely shy around Arnav.

What’s happening to me, Khushi thought one day, lying down in her bed.

It was the weekend and since the moment she woke up, all she could think about was Arnav.

Why can’t I stop thinking about him? I mean it’s insane! I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. … Is this normal?

Throughout the whole day, all she could think of was Arnav. Be it she was doing house chores or nothing, that’s all she thought of.

Going to bed that night, she had one crazy dream. Well, to her crazy, but in reality… erotic.

*Mature Content*
In her dream, she was with Arnav, alone. They were in a room together and he was holding her very close to him. Khushi blushed, looking away, and Arnav caressed her face and made her look up at him. Leaning in very close, he kissed her and Khushi relaxed and let him take control of her. Her feet began to give away and Arnav held her tightly to support her. He slowly led her back and carefully laid her down onto a bed. He came hovering above her and they were stuck into eye lock. Without a word, Arnav kissed her forehead, her cheeks, her nose, and then her chin. Khushi was practically panting, and just as he was about to kiss her, she pushed him away and made a run for it. But Arnav was fast and caught her pallu and she froze, placing her hands over her chest. She looked back at her Arnav, her expression asking him to let go, but Arnav smirked a sexy smirk and pulled on her pallu. Her sari unraveled and Arnav caught her. Khushi turned away, her back facing him, and Arnav nibbled on her neck, while pulling the strings of her blouse. Khushi froze and Arnav slipped his hands underneath the fabric and pulled it over her head. Khushi realized then that she wasn't wearing a bra and she quickly covered herself. Arnav smiled to her shyness and sat down on the bed and turned her to face him. Khushi blushed and looked away from him. Arnav kept his eyes on her and pulled the string to her petticoat. It fell to the floor and Khushi realized she wasn't wearing anything there either and tried to cross her legs, but Arnav caught her legs. Khushi looked at him in confusion and Arnav continued that smirk of his. He placed his foot in between her feet, forcing her legs apart. Khushi didn't understand a thing that was going on, but she felt the thud-feeling down there. Before Khushi could ask what he was doing, Arnav leaned in and Khushi felt his mouth there. Khushi gasped freezing and feeling her blood rush there. Arnav sucked and Khushi’s mouth parted as she caught on air. He sucked harder and Khushi grabbed his hair. His hair felt extremely soft, but it wasn't enough to distract her from what Arnav was doing. Arnav tightened his grip her legs and Khushi gasped again, pulling on his hair.

"Arnav please," she begged.

But Arnav increased his pressure and her body shook. Khushi let out a groan and Arnav tightened his hold on her. Arnav looked up at her and Khushi looked down at him, panting. He continued his torture while looking up at her. Khushi felt the build-up down there and her body bowed as Arnav started to circle her clitoris.

"Ooooh! Arnav!"

Khushi held his hair tightly, pulling at it. Arnav added more force, going faster with his circles. Khushi's body bowed, the build-up increasing even more. Trying to keep control on her breath, she couldn't do it for long and shattered into a million pieces, yelling his name as she came.

Khushi woke up immediately and sat up, panting. She poured herself a glass of water and drank it. Leaning her pillow up, she rested back and shut her eyes. She moved her legs and felt a drafty feeling. Moving her covers aside, Khushi looked in between her legs. Her salwar looked perfectly fine, so she laid back. But as she moved, she felt that drafty feeling and closed her legs together. That's when she felt the wetness.

What in the world, she thought.

She moved her legs and realized that her panties were wet. Unsure, she moved her hands above her panty and felt it wet. Khushi shot back, taking her hands out immediately. Her eyes shot wide and she gaped.

"Did I... did I just have... a wet dream," she whispered aloud to herself. "And... and of Arnav?"

She shut her eyes and an image of Arnav flashed in her head. It was of him, sitting in the library, next to her, with his hands folded. He was resting his forehead on it, facing her, with that glorifying, sexy smile, his eyes shining. She immediately opened them and gaped.

"Am I.... I'm losing it, I must be."

She drank some more water and went back to sleep, but she only thought of Arnav. Arnav, Arnav, Arnav. Nonstop Arnav. Khushi thought she was really losing it, but then she managed to fall asleep.

*~*

At school, Khushi felt completely weird. What would she do when she saw him? Hopefully she wouldn't get all weird around him.

But she did.

"Hey Khushi," Arnav said as he sat down beside her.

Khushi blinked, gulping down her confidence. "H-h-hi."

Arnav looked at her perplexed, a trace of a smile running on his lips. "You okay?"

"Y-y-yeah." He's just a friend, he's just a friend, she repeated in her head, like a mantra.

Arnav just shook his head and they paid attention to the class. When class ended, Khushi dashed out and Arnav found it really weird. The day passed and Arnav went to the library. He sat next to Khushi and tapped her.

"Hey Kush," he smiled.

Khushi peeked from her book and wave, and went right back to her book.

Arnav found it odd and tapped her again. She didn't turn to look at him, and Arnav tapped her again. Once again, Khushi didn't look again. Arnav found this very annoying and pulled on her book. Khushi held the book tightly; not letting Arnav put it down. He tried again, but Khushi wouldn't let him.

“Khushi, what the hell? Why are you hiding?”

Arnav tugged harder on the book and saw her really red, tomato-red face. Khushi looked side to side and she hid her face on the desk, wrapping her arms around her head. Arnav scrunched his eyebrows and looked at her.

“What… the…? Khushi, are you okay?”

Khushi shook her head.

“What’s wrong?”

She shook her head.

“You’re not going to tell me?”

She nodded.

“Why?”

Khushi didn't move.

Arnav couldn't help but to think of her reactions. First in class, and now here. Something was up, definitely. Just as he was about to ask, he remembered the times before, how other women have acted around him. Certain actions of Khushi’s were very similar to the actions of what those women have done. And in the end, those women ended up liking him.

If I’m correct, he thought, then….

Arnav wanted to test his theory, so he laid his head down on the desk as well, resting it on his arms, and looked at Khushi.

“Khushi,” he called his voice soft and humble.

Khushi shuddered slightly, but it wasn't missed by Arnav.

“Khushi,” he said even softer.

Khushi wanted to turn and look at him, but she couldn't.

“Khushi? Please look at me.”

Khushi took a deep breath. She really wanted to look at Arnav. Slowly, she turned her head and rested it on her arms and looked at Arnav, surprised to see him directly next to her. She slightly moved away, but Arnav grabbed her arm and Khushi stilled.

“Khushi?”

Khushi gulped, looking straight into Arnav’s eyes.

“Why are you acting like this Khushi?”

Khushi gulped and shook her head.

“Tell me? Please?”

Khushi shook her head and hid her face again.

“Are you feeling shy?”

Khushi bit her lip and thought for a moment, remembering back to the gypsy’s words.

*Flashback*

“…trust your heart. Follow it, and all happiness that you have never received in life, will be fulfilled."

"But how?"

"From one man," she smiled.

*End of Flashback*

Could he be him, Khushi wondered.

*Flashback*

That one man will help you receive the love and happiness you deserve.

*End of Flashback*

Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!
Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!

Khushi took in a shaky deep breath.

“Khushi? Can I tell you something?”

Khushi nodded.

“I… I… I love you.”

Khushi looked up and at him, her lips parted from shock. Arnav looked straight into her eyes, his eyes telling her that she was telling him the truth. Khushi gasped, completely in shock.

“I love you Khushi.”

Her eyes swelled and a lone tear went down her cheek.

Arnav sat up and held her cheek. “No baby, don’t cry.”

Khushi looked into his eyes.

“Don’t cry,” he said soothingly.

Her whole life, no one had ever comforted Khushi when she cried. No one. Not her mom, nor her dad. And now here today, a man that she barely knew was comforting her, asking her not to cry.

Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!
Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!

Khushi tried to swallow down the lump in her throat, but it wouldn't go.

“Khushi?”

Khushi charged at Arnav and hugged him tightly. She cried into his neck and Arnav held her tightly, giving her comfort.

“Khushi? Why are you crying?”

Khushi held onto his neck, crying, shaking her head.

Arnav pulled her away to look at her and wiped her face. “Please Khushi, don’t cry.”

Khushi shook her head and calmed down.

“Are you okay?”

She nodded.

Arnav held her hands. “I’m sorry.”

“Why?” Her voice was really small.

“I guess I shouldn't have said anything, because I've upset you-”

“No! No, Arnav, you haven’t upset me. In fact you've made me happy. Really happy.”

“Really?”

Khushi nodded. “That was the first time anyone has ever told me that they love me.”

Arnav was taken aback. “First time? What about your parents.”

Tears formed again and she shook her head.

“Oh, baby,” and he pulled her in to a hug.

Khushi felt so much comfort in his arms and she wanted it to stay this way. Her hands were over his chest and she felt his heart thump.

Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!
Dhak-dhak! Dhak-dhak!

Just like hers. It made Khushi smile and she hugged him tightly.

“Khushi, I love you. I promise, that with me, I will give you so much love, you will go crazy from it.”

Khushi couldn't help but to let out a light chuckle and she snuggled into him. “I… I love you Arnav.”

Arnav pulled away. "Say it again."

Khushi blushed. "I... I love you."

Arnav smiled like a little boy and hugged her tightly. "I love you too, Khushi."

And they hugged, stuck in their own little world, no one around to bother them.

Chapter Two

Wanting to know her was easy to say, but not easy to do, and that was what Arnav Singh Raizada realized. He had tried to talk to her the next day, but for some reason, he just couldn't  From one day turned to another. From another day turned to a week. From another week turned into a month. From another month- well, you get the idea.

And from doing so, it reached to the end of the first semester.

Oh come on Arnav, he yelled in his head. For crying out loud, you’re Arnav Singh Raizada and you can charm the ladies without even wanting to. So talk to the girl!

Taking a deep breath, Arnav relaxed and let his shoulders ease. He looked at Khushi and walked towards her. Khushi didn't have a clue and was reading another novel.

Arnav cleared his throat. “Excuse me?”

Khushi peered up from her book.

“May I sit here?”

Khushi looked at him like her face was saying “what da fuh?” but she recovered fast and moved her bag aside from the chair so Arnav could sit. Arnav gave a humble smile and sat beside her. Khushi went right back to her book and Arnav folded his hands like a little schoolboy and looked around. No one else was sitting near Khushi and people would keep looking up now and then, shocked that someone was sitting next to her.

Even the nerds were in shock.

Arnav looked away, feeling awkward and turned to Khushi. “What you reading?”

Khushi looked up, her cheeks red. Arnav scrunched his eyebrows and looked at her confused. She looked side to side and went back to her book. Arnav looked away and took a deep breath and tried again.

“Oh come on – it can’t be that bad?”

Khushi looked up again and looked straight forward. Arnav was looking at her and Khushi looked side to side again and then continued to read.

Come on Arnav, he encouraged himself. You can do this! “Can it?”

Khushi put the book down, keeping her thumb in between to save her page, and looked at him. “Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada…”

Arnav just dazed. Wow, he thought. My name sounds wonderful from her mouth.

“… This is a library. Here, you must stay quiet. So please, stop disturbing me.”

“Ssh,” the librarian hissed.

Khushi grabbed her bag, placed her bookmark in her book, and walked away. Arnav watched as she left and he sighed heavily.

Damn, he thought. I can’t even talk to a girl. Yet I've spoken to so many back in the city. He rested his chin in his hands. Am I losing my charm? He sighed and rested his head on the table. Great! When I need it, that’s when it decides to fade away. Just. Great.

Arnav didn't bother to say anything the next few days, but he did continue to go to the library. Khushi now started to realize his presence - though I won’t lie she didn't exactly know before. She would feel the light breeze whenever he would walk in and would also feel the tingle on her neck, but never really cared much about it. She still didn't, but now she would look up, and every time she did, she always saw Arnav coming in.

He wouldn't sit next to her, but he would sit near her. One day he came in, desperately in need of studying, after telling Viren that he really needed to study.

Yes, Arnav was now friends- well I wouldn't say friends, but more like… pals, with Viren. Arnav had now become a part of the crew, and he was “tight” with Viren and Sheetal. Well, when it comes to Sheetal, she’s been hitting on him since day one. Though Arnav showed no signs of interest, that didn't stop Sheetal whatsoever.

Arnav had come in a little late into the period, so most of the seats were taken. Like Arnav, a lot of other students had cracked down to their books as well, and they were all studying and looking serious. But of course, there was always space around Khushi, and Arnav had no other option but to sit across her. Not that he was complaining, but he was hoping Khushi wouldn't mind.

Arnav sat and saw that Khushi was reading another novel. He recalled Sheetal saying how she had gotten in by full scholarship and that she was a “nerd.” Arnav actually liked that about her. How many girls do you see these days that only care about education and nothing else. She had a powerful posture always, taking control of herself and not letting anything tear her down. But it was always her eyes that gave away everything. Arnav had noticed the difference from the way she was with her eyes. She looked all normal and tough, but her eyes held all her sorrow. There was always this shine to her eyes, and it always seemed to Arnav that she would crumble any second.

But he wouldn't allow that.

Arnav went back to his books and within three minutes, he sighed in frustration. Khushi peeked up from her book and looked at him. He looked so frustrated, Khushi couldn't help but to have a little curve appear at her lips. Arnav went through his bag and got his iPhone out and began to listen to music. Another three minutes later, he blew his hair out of his face from frustration and buried his face in his hands. When he revealed his face, his face looked crossed and Khushi stifled a laugh. Arnav looked up at her and Khushi pursed her lips to stop herself from laughing. She had to try so hard, she had to bite her lip. Arnav eyeballed her biting her lip and a manly desire erupted.

I wanna bite that lip, he said in his head.

Khushi didn't understand his expression and thought he was getting angry and controlled herself. “Sorry,” she said in a low voice. “I didn't mean to laugh.”

Arnav got dragged back to earth. “No. It’s okay.”

Khushi slightly shook her head and returned to her book. Arnav sighed and went back to studying, but couldn't for long. He shut his book out of frustration, making Khushi jump up from her book. Her eyes were wide and she hid behind the book, scared.

“Oh, I didn't mean to frighten you,” Arnav said softly.

Khushi nodded and peered over. “What are you studying for?”

“For Professor Yamini.”

“Really? You need to study for that?”

Arnav looked side to side. “Well, yeah. I mean I wanna be a business man so…. Why? You don’t think I don’t need to study?”

Khushi shook her head. “It’s not that. I mean, I've seen articles in the town’s newspaper and how you've studied business in the city. Even abroad.”

Arnav was surprised. She knows about me, he asked in his head. “Well, yeah, but I want to have a perfect grade in this class – to prove to myself that I can be a successful business man. That will keep me on task and will remind me to always do my best, you know, as an influence.”

Khushi nodded. “I see…. Well, best of luck Mr. Raizada.”

“Please, don’t call me that. That would be my dad.”

Khushi smiled lightly. “Okay... then best of luck… Arnav.”

The way Khushi said his name, made Arnav’s heart flutter.

That’s not normal, he said in his head, a bit scared, not to mention.

“Um, well, if you’d like,” Khushi said in a small voice, “I… I could help you?”

“Are you offering me or questioning yourself,” he lightly smirked at her shyness.

Khushi crimsoned. “I… I,” she stuttered.

Arnav gave a low chuckle and Khushi just looked at him in daze.

He’s laughing, she said in her head. And… it sounds nice.

She smiled a soft smile and Arnav looked at her with a smile on his face as well. The two just looked at each other for who knows how long, and then Arnav’s phone vibrated, making the whole table vibrate. The two broke away and Arnav looked at his text from Viren, about some party. Arnav agreed to it and looked at Khushi.

“So,” he began slowly, “you gonna help me study?”

Khushi looked at him and nodded slowly. Arnav dragged his chair over to her and Khushi helped him study. While studying, Arnav would get caught off and would look at Khushi in daze. The way she spoke, the way her hair flowed, the way her eyes would gleam time to time, and then would show that bit of sadness. It would make Arnav’s heart pit and he couldn't help but wonder what it could be that was making Khushi so down.

Eventually, the period was over and their study session - or should I say date - was over. They split and Arnav couldn't help but wonder:

Why does she always have sorrow in her eyes?

Chapter One

"Didi, hurry up! I understand it's your last year of college, but we still have to go," Shyam yelled.

Khushi came jumbling into the room, tripping over thin air as she came running out her room. "Sorry Shyam, I couldn't find my wallet."

"Hurry Didi or we'll be late!"

"Alright! Let's go!"

They went running out, their mother yelling behind them.

"It's the first day and you both are late! If Shyam gets late for his first day, then I swear Khushi-" but they could hear no more.

They got on the bus and arrived to the college in no time. Many people were there and were hugging their friends. Shyam looked around and saw his friends by a tree and went over to them. Khushi smiled as she saw her brother go over to his friends. She was happy for her brother – happy that he had friends to support him.

But unlike Shyam, Khushi had no friends.

None.
Zero.
Nada.

Unlike all the other girls, Khushi didn't have beautiful clothes or makeup, or any of those sorts. Her parents barely cared anyways about her, so why would they bother so much on her? Khushi did have a small job at the local daycare, but most of her money went to books and food. She was on full scholarship, being the bright student that she was. Had she had enough money, she would've stayed on campus and dorm.

Khushi was walking to her first class, when someone poked fun at her.

"Hey look! It's the nerd," a girl exclaimed.

The girl's crew laughed at Khushi, but Khushi ignored them and continued walking.

"Aww! Are Ugly's feelings hurt," a boy asked.

They all laughed again, but Khushi continued to ignore.

Since Khushi wasn't like all the other girls, a lot of boys hated on her. Khushi remembered the gypsy's words about that "one man", but for the past couple of years, she had given up. Ever since her body began to mature, and she realized the feelings of liking someone, no one ever went near her. They claimed her as ugly, never wearing the latest trendy clothes or ever trying to look pretty.

To Khushi, it didn't matter. All she wanted was her education so she could prove her parents that girls are worth something. At one point, her parents even wanted her to stop going to college. But luckily, their headmaster had requested her parents to let her continue, and listening to her words, they allowed her to continue.

Khushi walked into her class and sat down in the one of the back rows. Students began to pile in and soon it was full. All the seats were filled, except for the one next to Khushi.

No one EVER sat with her.

"Good morning class," the professor said. "I'm your Business Administration professor, Professor Yamini. Now, before I give the class introduction, there is a new person who will be joining the class, as well as our school." She looked at the door and a guy came in.

Khushi stopped paying attention when she said "a new person" and opened up her notebook. But all of a sudden, she felt a slight breeze. It gave her a tingly feeling on her neck and she looked up. In came a gorgeous, cute, hot, sexy looking guy and she gaped. Not only her, but everyone gaped.

"This is Arnav Singh Raizada," Professor Yamini said. "I'm sure you all know him, since he is the son of our town's mayor."

It would be a very stupid thing if a person didn't know Arnav Singh Raizada in this town. If you  didn't, they'd think you were from a different planet! Arnav Singh Raizada is the son of Aryan Singh Raizada, who was the mayor of the town. Arnav's mother, Shalini Aryan Singh Raizada, had passed away when Arnav was just the age of seven. Wanting his son to be raised with a mother's value, Aryan had hired a nanny, who Arnav lovingly called "Dai Ma", and she raised him with good values. One thing for sure, Arnav was "hot topic" and every girl swooned for him, though he never showed his interest to any girl... yet.

Professor Yamini gave a short introduction and asked him to sit somewhere. Everyone else looked at the seat beside them and they were all taken. All but one seat – the one beside Khushi. Everyone looked at Arnav, as he went up the steps to the empty seat beside Khushi. She looked anywhere but at Arnav and all the other people's stares. He sat down beside her and Yamini called back everyone's attention. Khushi tried to focus on what she was saying, but it seemed a bit difficult. It wasn't every day you sat next to the Mayors son.

"Hi," he whispered.

Khushi looked at him. "Um, hi?"

Khushi felt weird.
A) The mayor's son was talking to her.
B) Some guy was talking to her.
C) Someone was actually talking to her!

She tried not to get into conversation and listened to what the professor had to say. Arnav did too, but every time, he noticed that people kept glancing back at him. Especially the girls.

See, that's what bothered Arnav. He didn't want a girl that just saw him as the Mayor's son, and the filthy, sexy, rich guy he was. He wanted a true girl, who was beautiful and loved him for who he was, not what he was.

And from the looks of these girls, it sure seemed he wouldn't be getting anywhere.

Soon, class was over and everyone went their separate ways. Some people practically ran to get near him, while others skipped over.

This is gonna be one long day, Arnav said in his head.

The day went on and Arnav began to realize "the ways" of the campus. Throughout his day, he figured out the popular from the nerds, the losers to the popular, and hated. The popular crew was led by a girl, named Sheetal, along with a friend, named Viren. The two practically ran the school with their gang. They picked on almost everyone, especially on one person – Khushi.

It was their lunch time, and all of them had lunch at the same time. Khushi was getting a salad, when Sheetal made fun of Khushi, saying how she was trying to lose fat. Arnav found that ridiculous, since Khushi wasn't fat at all. In fact she was as skinny as a stick. It was just that her clothes were big on her. It surprised Arnav how almost everyone on campus poked fun at her all day, but she didn't say a word back.

He not only noticed it that day, but did also the next day, the whole week, and the whole month. Not once did Khushi complain, and he liked her nature. She was quiet, yet sweet. She always had no expression, but one day, Arnav found her in the library, reading a book. From the cover, it seemed like she was reading a romance novel, and while watching her, he noticed a curve from her lips. Then all of a sudden, she gave a full bloom smile and Arnav was in daze.

She was something, and she was different... and he wanted to know her.
